I always liked the Grands Causses (limestone uplands in middle France mountains) and kept from my childhood in the Cevennes memories of landscapes with an atmosphere seemingly desertic or lunar, and revealing to people who take time to observe it all the richness of fauna and flora perfectly suited to the harshness of these large limestone plateaus.
