Eating organic is certainly better for both our health and our environment, but not yet for our bank account… Anyway I noticed that some retailers are starting to offer a wider variety of food producted from organic farming, with a price a little bit more affordable (though excessive for some goods, such as in example organic ham that still costs more than twice the standard -but high quality- ham).
So, I begin to consume organic when the difference in price is reasonable, and whenever possible (product availability… sought). But the fact remains that eating well and eating organic costs still very / too expensive. The choice of organic food certainly will be for me one day systematic when price will be equal to or lower than non-organic foods.
Major retailers have begun -shyly- to step forward, and for now I think it is the consumer that it is – for his choice of consommation- to encourage retailers and producers to continue in the right direction. It also comes to the States and governments to add incentives to distribute organic food (for example, tax incentives)…
